Murder-Mystery Novel In-Progress

Recently I have been very enthusiastic to write. Since I finished a novella manuscript last year, I’ve been striving to keep busy with some writing project. I have at least three manuscripts in progress: one science fiction space-travel, one murder-mystery, and the last being a short story collection. My murder-mystery has been my main focus for much of the year, as I have been sucked into the world of crime and psychology through television shows.

A host who has grown tired of killing just anyone; why kill small fry when he could try the big leagues? But why should he have all the fun? Better to invite his fellow murderers and throw some prey into the mix. Bring them together and watch what happens. It’s the ultimate game, and he gets to see it up-close and in his home.

So, to give a little idea of what I have been working on, here’s a tiny piece of my writing:

‘ ‘”Death is the Mother of Beauty; hence, from her, alone, shall come fulfillment to our dreams and our desires.”‘

An unexpected killer with a fashion for poetry and beauty was in their midst, and oh, Leo was beyond charmed. The predator inside him rumbled with a renewed vigor for the hunt – the game had begun perfectly.” ‘

I began this story last year, roughly the same time that I finished my novella. It was somewhat inspired by the television series Hannibal, whose characters (based upon the novel characters) captured my attention. Coming from a family who enjoys stories of murder and the elusive killer, I thought it would be fun to give my own murder-mystery it’s opportunity to come to life on the page. I am not very far along, but I have been ecstatic to write it. I finally seem to be getting somewhere, so I thought it would be a delight to share it.
